Rules and Regulations

GENERAL

  1. Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organisers to ensure the participants’ safety, participants agree to partake in this event at their own risks and the organizers, their sponsors and their appointed officials shall not be liable for any death or injury, loss or damage, suffered or otherwise, howsoever arising.
  2. Completion of the registration form is an indication of the participants’ agreement to abide by the Rules & Regulations of the Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018.
  3. The Organisers reserve the right to delay the commencement of the walk in the event of inclement weather. Should the inclement weather persist after the delay, the Organisers reserve the right to cancel the walk without any refund of registration fees.
  4. The Organisers reserve the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018, for any legitimate purpose, including commercial advertising and publicity purpose.
  5. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.
  6. Any dispute arising from participation in Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018 shall be referred to Arbitration to be conducted in Singapore under the law of the Singapore Arbitration Court.

REGISTRATION

  1. The Organisers reserve the right to limit and refuse entries without assigning any reasons thereof.
  2. Registration for the event is open to all participants, however, participants below the age of 18 years (as of 23rd June 2018) are required to complete and submit the indemnity form found on the registration page. This indemnity form is to be returned to the Organiser during the Walk Pack Collection. Participants who fail to submit the indemnity form will not be allowed to participate in the event.
  3. The Organisers shall not be held responsible for any dispute arising from incomplete registration details.
  4. There will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually take part in the Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018. For any reasons whatsoever, walk packs not collected by participants will be forfeited.
  5. All participants must register online through the registration portal.
  6. Registration is based on a first-come first-serve basis unless otherwise stated.

WALK PACK COLLECTION

  1. All participants must collect their walk packs, which consist of an event pledge tee, and other sponsored items during the walk pack collection day on 16th or 17th June 2018, 12.00pm to 7.00pm, at the Singapore Heart Foundation.
  2. All participants must bring along the confirmation slip together with their identity card, FIN card or passport to collect their walk pack.
  3. Participants may authorise a representative to collect their walk pack if they are unable to collect personally. The representative is required to bring along his or her identity card and the endorsed authorisation form. Authorisation form can be downloaded here.
  4. The Organizers reserve the right to replace any entitlement with products of similar value without giving prior notification or any reasons thereof.
  5. Late collection of walk packs will not be entertained and the Organisers shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused, due to participants’ inability to collect their walk packs.
  6. As the event T-shirts have been pre-ordered, change in sizes during collection is strictly NOT allowed. Participants must adhere to the event T-shirt sizes that they have registered for.

EVENT DAY

  1. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the walk without any prior notification; in any case, the registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
  2. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Pledge Your Heart Walk 2018 walk routes as they deem fit, for the safety of the Participant and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the event, at any time without prior notice to the participants. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the participants prior to the date of the event. The Organisers shall not be liable for any other loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.
  3. Participants must walk on the designated path for the entire route.
  4. The walk is non-competitive.
  5. The Organisers will not be responsible for any loss and/or damage, personal or otherwise, to the belongings and items deposited at the event baggage storage facility. The Organisers also reserve the right to check any item or baggage deposited.
  6. Please note that there might be public runners and cyclists along the route. We seek your understanding on this matter to ensure that the walk remains safe and enjoyable for everyone.

SAFETY AND MEDICAL

  1. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the event day.
  2. For your own safety, participants are advised to walk on the designated path throughout the entire route.
  3. Participants are advised against the consumption of alcohol or stimulants or any kind of drugs within 24 hours of the event.
  4. Should any participants feel unwell or experience any pain/discomfort in the course of walk, they should stop and seek immediate medical attention at designated medical posts.
  5. The Organisers reserve the right to remove any participant deemed physically incapable of continuing with the Heart Walk to prevent him/her from causing greater harm and injury to himself/herself.
